Camille & Kevin Higdon

Camille & Kevin Higdon

Kevin and Camille Higdon are long-time soccer fans and live in Michigan City, Indiana.  Both are CPAs and coached at the Youth Soccer levels when their 3 children Kyle, Wesley and Holly were growing up.  They met in the early '80s when they both worked in Chicago at the accounting firm Peat Marwick (now called KPMG) but both grew up in Michigan City (long story as to why it took them until after college) to meet.  They bought their fixer-upper house across the street from Lake Michigan in 1987 and continue to improve it.

Camille left KPMG when Kyle was born and was a stay at home Mom until the children were older. This afforded her to begin coaching soccer for her children, especially for the youngest Holly.  Their Rec Plus League team became one of the strongest in Northern Indiana with one of the players, and one of Holly's best friends, ultimately being selected by the Red Stars in the NWISL draft.  Camille began providing accounting services for a few organizations and currently owns a financial services business.  In the early stages of the Internet, she developed the website for her father in law Hal Higdon, who is a renowned runner\writer and has written and continues to oversee training programs for runners throughout the world.

Kevin has been in healthcare Finance since he left KPMG and has worked as a CFO for a number of Chicagoland and Northern Indiana area health care organizations.  Organized Soccer wasn't available during his school years but he focused on running, of which he qualified for the 1984 Olympic Trials in the Marathon and was a 2 time National Masters Champion in the 3000 Meters Steeplechase on the track.  He and his father held the World Record in the Father\Son Marathon for years (now broken) but now he, his father and his son Kyle own the WR for the Father\Son\Grandson Marathon.  One of his defining soccer moments, besides coaching the children in soccer in Youth play, was staying up late in 1981 to watch the Chicago Sting win a national championship and then getting up early to finish in 6th place the next day in the Chicago Marathon.  He also remembers in 1982 running track meets in Europe traveling around with a number of Englishman watching the World Cup.  He ended up at his cousin's in Rome a week after Italy won the World Cup and they were still celebrating.

Kevin and Camille look forward to watching the House with the son Wesley and daughter-in-law Maddie who live in Chicago and continue to participate in Chicago soccer  leagues on the near north side of Chicago.
