Mike Gaynor

Mike is a Radio Frequency (RF) electrical engineer at Peregrine Semiconductor and part owner as well as a board member of Raptor Wireless Labs. He has been in the industry for 35 years, and wrote a book on RF System in Package module design. His career expands large, hundreds of watts, base stations; to cellular type phones including the Iridium satellite phone; to many wireless modules; and now semiconductor integrated circuit designs.

Mike played soccer his freshman year at Quigley Preparatory Seminary South high school on the South side of Chicago in 1978. He coached his four kids in soccer when he lived in Arizona as well as a couple years when he moved back to Illinois. He became a Chelsea fan when he started a design center in Elgin for a company based in Cambridge England, where he frequently traveled. Mike watches all the world cup tournaments. While he is of course a United States fan first, he cheers for France second. This is because il est demi français (he is half French).

Mike enjoys travel off the beaten path and has been to over 20 countries throughout North America, Europe, and Asia including Iceland where he stood on the tectonic plates dividing Iceland between North America and Europe as well as two trips to Nepal where he did mission work.

Mike has run in 7 RAGNAR relay races between 2013 and 2016. These included races from Madison Wisconsin to Chicago, Miami to the Florida Keys, and a trail run in Atlanta Georgia. There are 12 people that run in the race split between two vans. Someone is always running including at night. Everyone runs 3 times.
