MATCH PREVIEW: November 20th, 2021, versus California United Strikers FC
CHICAGO, IL (November 19th, 2021) - Chicago House AC returns to SeatGeek Stadium to wrap up its inaugural 2021 NISA Fall Season in another home match versus the California United Strikers FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm CST. The House is coming into this match of back-to-back wins against the LA Force and Stumptown AC, respectively, both in thrilling 2-1 matches over the past two weekends. For Cal United Strikers FC, they're coming off a midweek matchup on the road against Maryland Bobcats FC, resulting a 1-1 draw.
The House sits in 4th place in the 2021 NISA fall season with 23 points, while Cal United Strikers FC sits above the House in 2nd place on 30 points.
After two straight wins, the House coaching staff and players are eager to finish the fall season strong, building on winning momentum, and getting ready for the 2022 season.
Chicago House AC defender David Abidor shared what he feels as the House prepares for their final home match in the 2021 NISA fall season in front of our home fans.
"I'm excited; it's been fantastic to see the attendance grow as we've continued to play better and better on a week-to-week basis,” said Abidor. “I'm looking forward to closing the season on a high note. I think for a new club to finish 4th this season would be a great accomplishment."
Chicago House AC has picked up 18 points since the beginning of October, and Head Coach and Technical Director, C.J. Brown gave some insight on how his players have turned their season around.
"The players are finally gelling and understanding what I want," said Coach Brown. "They understand each other and work hard and see the potential in all the games that we played. If you look at the first few games we lost, we were losing 1-0 or 2-1. We also had mental mistakes, individual mistakes, and organizational mistakes. I think we've cut down on a lot of those in the last half of the season, and credit to the guys that sharpen their tools to play, and we've got some good results."
Coach Brown also shared what he is looking forward to in the rematch against the Cal United Strikers FC.
"I'm looking to see if we can continue this run at home," said Coach Brown. "I'm looking to see if we can continue to play the way we've been training and working all season, be good with the ball, get opportunities on goal, and be disciplined defensively. We are just trying to get better every day. I know it's the last game, so you want to give guys a look at that and the other, but most importantly, staying focused and trying to stay as high in the standings as possible, putting out a good performance, and still getting a chance to see players.”
CJ's final message before their season finale against Cal United Strikers FC to his players this week has been to "end the season the right way, go out and play the best you can, and give it everything you got."
